WIBC
The City of Indianapolis is turning its rehabilitation efforts to the Haughville area.
City officials today announced crews are restoring numerous streets, curbs and sidewalks in the area. Much of the effort is centered in the 10th street area.
Projects also include road resurfacing and street ramps for Tibbs Avenue from Washington to 16th Streets. The City has invested $182 million to repair neglected roads since last September.
City-County Councillor Marilyn Pfisterer says the project is the first step in breathing new life into the area. She says the city is also focusing on rehabbing or demolishing upwards of 80 neglected or abandoned structures in the community.
