WISH TV

INDIANAPOLIS – After the demolition of the Keystone Towers on Sunday, the city has been in talks of what to do with the six-acre property in the future.

Friday, the City of Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development issued a Request for Proposals for the Keystone Towers’ redevelopment. The property, located at 45th Street and Binford Boulevard, will have a minimum offering price of $600,000.

Mayor Greg Ballard touched base on the future for the property and what it will do for the city.
"Moving forward with redevelopment of the Keystone Towers site will allow us to return it to the tax rolls and provide affordable housing and amenities to the community," Ballard stated.

The Federal guidelines are requiring that there be at least 50 new residential rentals to be developed on the new site, with a mixture of low and middle income housing units.

"This project will revitalize the Keystone Millersville neighborhood by attracting private development and improving quality of life for residents,” said Ballard.

Anyone interested in an offering packet should contact Steve Schulmeyer starting Sept. 6 at the City-County Building, room 2042 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. He can also be contacted by phone at (317) 327-5822 or by email at steve.schulmeyer@indy.gov.
