Indianapolis--Indianapolis is enduring the busiest construction year to record. Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard (R) and City-County Councilor Michael McQuillen (R) announced the project to fix infrastructure on 82nd Street.
"I encourage residents of District 12, as well as residents countywide, to reach out to their Councilors and request potential projects in their neighborhoods," Councilor McQuillen said.
This project is part of Mayor Ballard's RebulidIndy plan.
"We give the residents of neighborhoods on the northeast side and all those who travel along 82nd Street relief as we make their roads smoother and safer and their sidewalks more walkable," Mayor Ballard said.
Construction on 82nd Street will begin mid-July, which will include Sargent Road to Fall Creek Road. The road will remain open during the project. Future projects, include widening 82nd Street, are expected to begin in 2014.
