WIBC

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Treasury and President's Council on Financial Capability met with city leaders Wednesday to discuss Indy's Campaign for Financial Fitness.

PACFC President Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz called the local campaign a model for other communities.
"What Mayor Ballard and his wife Winnie have done, in terms of creating a wonderful coordination among banks and non-profits to create more financial fitness in this city, has become a blueprint for the rest of the country," Schwab-Pomerantz said.
Schwab-Pomerantz also cited Indy's free tax preparation program as another admirable way to improve the finances of local residents.
Both she, and the Director of the U.S. Treasury Department's Community Programs, Louisa Quittman, plan to return to Washington D.C. with information about the Indianapolis approach.
