With partnership, city aims to improve permitting process

Indianapolis -- Small businesses soon will be able to receive more guidance on how to receive permits from the city's Department of Code Enforcement.
The department is partnering with Develop Indy to provide more education to businesses about the permitting process.
Mark Fisher, a former executive at The Hagerman Group and The Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, will lead the new initiative. (Star report)
Terminal to shut Iowa-based national trucking company Ruan Transport will close a northeastern Indiana terminal in Decatur by June 1, affecting the jobs of at least 58 employees. Terminal Manager Terry Lahrman said Tuesday the workers will be offered jobs at other Ruan locations.
