Tully's right: Mayor Ballard does show up, and much more 12.9.10

Matthew Tully in his Dec. 8 column accurately observes that one of Mayor Greg Ballard's political strengths is "he shows up." This assessment reminded me of a nondescript ROTC ceremony at Ben Davis High School a few years ago, and Mayor Ballard was on the program. Not only did he and Mrs. Ballard show up, but he brought such passion and vigor in his presentation to those young people that even I was ready to sign up for some type of service for my community. My only regret is I am not a Marion County resident and therefore cannot vote. Please accept this humble endorsement instead.
