Indianapolis business to add 50 jobs by 2013 12.2.10
A coatings business will add 50 jobs to its 25-employee workforce by 2013 in a $1 million project.
KECO Coatings and Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard announced the business will take over a vacant industrial building at 1102 W. 116th St. on the Near Westside. The business counts racing firms among its big clients.
"This part of town is poised" for development, Ballard said, since it is close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and in the Indiana Avenue hub northwest of Downtown.
The 16th Street site will be the second for KECO. The business looked at putting the jobs in North Carolina, but chose Indianapolis, where it has been based since 1979.
The new jobs' salaries will average $40,000.
