City Breaks Ground on Meridian-Kessler Improvement Project 10.3.11

WIBC

IIndianapolis city leaders broke ground today on a neighborhood improvement project in the city's Meridian-Kessler area.

The city is spending $1 million to install sidewalks, landscaping and pedestrian crossings in the area Meridian and Illinois street areas between 54th and 57th Streets.

Plans also call for a small park at Meridian and Westfield at 57th Street.

City County Councilman Ryan Vaughn says the city has worked hard to improve neighborhoods in the midtown area.  Vaughn says the upgrades aren't only about beautifying neighborhoods, but also about keeping people in the city.
